The following core functions of the Authority are performed by our Revenue Collection Division:

Tax

  • Customer Service Centre
    • general enquiries.
    • registration.
    • tax clearance.
    • collection point for all returns & correspondence.
    • deal with all FIRCA business units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division, Legal and Information Technology sections.
  • Data Entry Unit
    • lodgment of all return types.
    • data entry of other income and information provided in returns.
    • updating information on the data base.
    • also processes returns received by Lodgment Enforcement Unit.
    • refers system problems to Information Technology section through relevant Manager & National Manager.
  • Company Section
    • processing of returns of income for companies.
    • referrals to other units within FIRCA.
    • deal with all FIRCA business units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division, Legal and Information Technology sections.
  • Technical Section
    • processing of returns of income for sole traders, partnerships, estates and non-profit organisations.
    • referrals to other units within FIRCA.
    • deal with all FIRCA business units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division, Legal and Information Technology sections.
  • Assessment Units
    • processing of salary & wage earners returns of income.
    • processing of registered persons VAT Returns.
    • deal with all FIRCA business units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division, Legal and Information Technology sections.
  • Amendments and Correspondence Control Unit
    • conducts review of assessments for all return types.
    • controls correspondence.
    • deal with all FIRCA business units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division, Legal and Information Technology sections.
  • PAYE Section
    • maintain employers' records.
    • reconcile the amounts received from employers (PAYE taxes deducted at source) with the information on the Annual Summaries.
    • deal with Customer Enquiry Centre and Processing Units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division and Information Technology section.
  • Dispatch Unit
    • issue of notices of assessments, statements of tax accounts and refunds to taxpayers.
    • deal with Processing sections and Customer Enquiry Centre.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division and Information Technology section.
  • Taxpayer Education & Publicity Unit
    • public awareness of tax issues.
    • provides technical advice to internal & external parties.
    • preparation of tax pamphlets, brochures, etc.
    • deal with all FIRCA business units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division.
  • Technical Interpretations & Procedures Unit
    • provide technical advice to internal & external parties.
    • develops procedures & practice statements.
    • coordinates & conducts seminar & workshops for internal & external parties.
    • deal with all FIRCA business units.
    • direct referrals to Risk & Compliance Division and Legal section.
