The Legal Division performs the following functions:

• provide legal and support services to tax, customs and corporate arms including the CEO and the Board of Directors of the Authority.
• vetting and drafting of all contractual agreements of the Authority.
• represent the Authority in court on all tax and customs cases.
• defend the Authority in court on all civil actions filed against the Authority.
• update and revise all FIRCA related legislation.
• draft laws for the Authority in liaison with the First Parliamentary Counsel.
• undertake legal research work on tax and customs matters.
• represent the Authority in disciplinary tribunal cases.
• represent the Authority in appeal board cases.
• represent the Authority in arbitration cases.
